Mark Schoettmer is a Cincinnati native with four decades of diverse athletic, personal, and professional business experiences under his belt. So naturally, our first question to him was: “Where did you go to school?”
Mark is a St. Xavier guy who went on to play football and baseball for the Duke Blue Devils. Mark played quarterback and had the privilege of backing up a player who completed his college career as the top passer in the history of NCAA Division I-A football (Ben Bennett).
Now Mark is playing for the CIP Retail team. We are thrilled to add him to the roster as our new Chief Operating Officer.
As COO, Mark’s job is to help CIP Retail leverage our people, processes, and technology in a way that optimizes operations throughout the organization and drives extensive and sustainable growth. It’s a role Mark has successfully undertaken before as Chief HR Officer and VP of Strategy for Cincinnati-based manufacturer Enerfab.
“It’s amazing how the stars align when you’re supposed to be somewhere,” Mark said about the opportunity to join CIP. “To find an environment with an interesting business model and good people involved — that’s the four-leaf clover.”

The first settlers of Rising Sun, Indiana, included Samuel Fulton’s family, uncle to steamboat inventor Robert Fulton. Quite fittingly, a steamboat casino parked on the Ohio River banks is one of the town’s most popular attractions. One of this quaint town’s busiest supermarkets is family-run Rising Sun IGA. The store is only nine aisles wide, but its idyllic location, friendly staff, and excellent butcher shop make it a popular stop for tourists and locals alike.
Delicious sun-ripened fruits and vegetables on the retail aisle markers direct shoppers to the store’s garden-fresh, local produce.

The most prominent imagery along the back wall highlights the store’s specialty – its premium quality meats. Our design consultant Tom hasn’t stopped raving about the cut of filet mignon he and his family enjoyed from the store.

Finally, the supermarket décor pays homage to the community’s most valuable resources – its stunning location on the Ohio River banks, its beautiful views of the rising sun over Kentucky hills, and its hardworking people.

CIP Retail designed and positioned ten (10) 20” x 20” SNS Wall™ displays in a mosaic-like pattern which pull media-rich content wirelessly, directly from Dorothy Lane Market’s Instagram feed to enhance the in-store shopping experience.
Visit Rite Aid in Beverly Hills, California, at 300 North Canon Drive during the Grand Opening of their second location. Rite Aid will have 21 days of events begin on Sunday, June 15th.
The store featured custom elements and unique services not found in a typical store. Rite Aid has enhanced this store with a specialty cosmetic department and full-time beauty ambassador on staff. CIP Retail provided turnkey store design, manufacturing and installation of the interior décor elements at this location. In addition, CIP Retail installed a custom fabricated illuminated ribbon element, as well as custom acrylic paneling and satin anodized extrusions which replaced the Marlite paneling found in typical stores. Another unique feature for this location is a “Fresh Day Café” with specialty food, coffee and Thrifty yogurt offerings.
Highlighted by Rite Aid is the reinvented beauty section, enhanced men’s grooming, and new pharmacy look for the store.
